Whether a leisurely rider, a family excursion, or an experienced mountain bike freak, everyone will find their favorite route on 1200 km of bike routes in the Zillertal.
The 30-lilometer-long Zillertal bike trail will take you from the valley entrance of the Zillertal in Strass to Mayrhofen and farther into the Tuxertal, where many mountain bike tours await you around your accommodations.
Our route tips
Penken tour – high-altitude panoramic tour
The 40-kilometer-long route is idea for fit bikers! In around 4.5 hours, the tour leads from Finkenberg to Astegg and up the Penken – past the Gschösswandhaus and Granatalm and via the Schwendberg and Mayrhofen back to Finkenberg.
Tux-Höllensteinhütte-Grieralm loop trail
From Finkenberg, you will first bike into the Tuxertal to Lanersbach. This is where the 11-kilometer-long loop trail to the Lanersbach hut begins. This route (asphalt and gravel) entails a biking time of 2 to 3 hours.
Finkenberg-Hintertux-Bichlalm
From Hotel Persal, you will bike on the Tuxer Landesstraße (L6) with a slight incline to the valley head. A well-developed gravel road will take you to the Bichlalm, where you can replenish your energy with delicious snacks before your descent.
